Terms of Service

BringUp is owned and operated by Irving Place Services LLC ("Irving Place Services", "we", "us"). By using the BringUp app or website (together, the "service") you agree to these terms.

• A free research project. BringUp is a research project and experimental tool, not a commercial service. All features are free; we charge nothing, and nothing in the app is offered for sale. The service is provided for personal, non-commercial use, and we may add, change, break, suspend, or discontinue any part of it — or the whole service — at any time, without notice and without liability. There is no service-level commitment of any kind. You can export a full copy of your data at any time from Settings → Privacy & data, and we encourage you to keep your own copies of anything important.
• Your content. You own your content. You grant Irving Place Services only the limited license needed to store, sync, and display it to you and to anyone you explicitly share with, and to operate the service.
• Acceptable use. Don't use BringUp to store unlawful content, to harass others, or to violate others' privacy. Don't attempt to access another user's private content, probe or disrupt the service, or use it to build a competing dataset.
• Sharing. When you share an item with someone, they can see that item. Don't share content you don't have the right to share.
• Not professional advice. BringUp is an organizational tool for personal reminders. It is not — and must not be relied on as — medical, legal, financial, or any other professional advice, and it is not a system of record. Do not use it as your only copy of information you cannot afford to lose.
• Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the service.
• No warranties. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY — INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DATA WILL BE PRESERVED, THAT NOTIFICATIONS OR REMINDERS WILL BE DELIVERED, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. YOU USE THE SERVICE ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
• Limitation of liability. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IRVING PLACE SERVICES LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (THE SERVICE IS FREE, SO THAT AMOUNT IS ZERO) OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
• Indemnity. You will indemnify Irving Place Services against claims arising from your content or your violation of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.
• Termination. You can delete your account anytime (Settings → Privacy & data). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or discontinue the service as described above.
• Changes. We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
• Miscellany. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Irving Place Services about the service.
